Stan's life Reflections

Stanley Eugene King entered the world in Dallas, Texas, on March 22, 1955, born to Luella King and Odell Moore. From the very beginning, he carried a quiet strength — the kind that would shape every chapter of his life. His hands, his heart, and his steady way of moving through the world became his signature, a gift he shared generously with everyone around him.

Stan lived with a rare kind of brilliance — the kind that could turn broken things whole again. His hands were steady, gifted, almost intuitive, whether he was building a computer from its bare bones, tuning an engine back to life, or shaping a home with the quiet craftsmanship of someone who understood how things fit together. Stan didn’t just fix things; he restored them. And in doing so, he restored people too.

Raised in Dallas, Stan walked the halls of Roosevelt High School, graduating proudly with the Class of 1973. His curiosity carried him farther — to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas — where he balanced books, athletics, and ambition. There, he earned his degree in Political Science, sharpening a mind that was as disciplined as his hands were skilled. Washburn didn’t just educate him; it shaped the steady, thoughtful man he would become.

His career at Texas Instruments / Raytheon TI Systems was more than a job. It was a calling. Day after day, Stan ensured that critical defense equipment reached the service members who depended on it — including his own son. He carried that responsibility with quiet pride, knowing his work traveled farther than he ever could, protecting people he would never meet.

Stan’s life was threaded with love, family, and deep connection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luella King and Odell Moore; his brother E. Herbert Mason; sisters Christine Young and Marilyn Cothran; nephew Rodney W. Bonner; and his beloved aunts, Manolia Avery and Bobby Huckabee Murray — each a chapter in the story that shaped him.

He leaves behind a legacy carried gently forward by his children, Torri Kozlow and Corey Stafford; his son‑in‑law Michael Kozlow; his brother Maurice E. King; sister‑in‑law Sharon King; and grandchildren who lit his world: Kayla Taylor, Ta'Niyah Stafford, Rihanna Stafford, D'Corieon Stafford, Alycen Kozlow, and Spence Kozlow. His family circle extends to Bill Cothran, Audrey Bonner Aderbigbe, and the wide, intertwined families of the Averys, Bonners, Adkisons, Kings, Huckabees, and Moores — each one touched by his presence.

And woven throughout his life were the families who claimed him as their own — the McKnight, Stafford, Kozlow, and Howard families — whose love wrapped around him for decades. Their embrace was one of the greatest gifts of his life.

Stan lived with purpose. He loved with steadiness. He worked with pride. And he leaves behind a legacy not measured in years, but in the countless lives he strengthened, supported, and quietly uplifted.
