Prayers for Our Mom
Dear God, we gratefully thank you
For giving us our mom.
You must really love us
'Cause you gave the best you had.
Watch over her and bless her Lord,
And keep her in your care,
And may she feel
Our love for her,
Is our humble ,
heartfelt prayer.
Obituary
Peggy Jo Williams received her gift of life on March 29, 1943 in Marshall, Texas. “Choc,” as Peggy was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the Marshall, TX school system followed by enlistment into the US Army.
Choc resided in North Carolina for many years before returning to Texas to make Dallas her home. Choc’s dedication to service continued during her 15-year career at Greyhound where she made many friends with her jovial demeanor.
Choc also knew the Lord. The congregants of Hickory Grove, in North Carolina, and Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, can attest to her passion to serve God. She often called out to God, and on November 4, 2025, Choc accepted God’s call to come home. She said goodbye to her earthly home and to her oldest daughter, Angela Williams of Dallas, TX, while her youngest daughter, Pamela Williams Bromell of Raleigh, NC, looked on.
Choc’s oldest grandson, Dennis Byrd Jr. (Briona), informed his siblings, Candace Bass (Allen), and Xavier Bromell (Brittany) that “Granny” had made her peaceful transition. Choc’s son-in-law, Daren Bromell also of Raleigh, NC, was out of state when he received the news that Choc answered God’s call.
Peggy’s brother, Noel Daniels, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Monrovia, CA and her niece, Jami Daniels, began making plans to join the family in Dallas. Though a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends may mourn her transition, let us look at some joyful highlights of Choc’s life that will be shared with her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jayla, Jonas, Ezra, Kaleb, Alyx, Micah, and Brooklyn.
The fact that Choc was a known jokester, liked to keep people smiling, and absolutely loved babies will leave them feeling her love in spirit. Choc even fancied herself as a socialite-hosting many Greyhound dinner parties and lunches in her home. But above all, Choc was a sacrificial giver, making sure to take care of and cherish those she cared for the most.
