DOROTHY MARIE THOMAS HARRIS aka “Queen D” was born July 31, 1956, to the parentage of the late Walter Ivory Sr. and Dorothy Jean Ivory in Dallas, Texas. She was proceeded in death by her father and mother; her brother, Willie Richardson; two sisters, Violet Williams and Marie Harris; son, Percye Thomas and her grandson, Nigel Bursey.
DOROTHY ACCEPTED Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was an active member of The Lord’s Missionary Baptist Church. She completed her formal education in the Dallas Public System attending J.N. Ervin and South Oak Cliff (Class of 1974). Dorothy worked for the City of Dallas from 1978 until her retirement in 2007.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was also a great cook who loved cooking for her family.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Raythell Thomas; three grandchildren, Raythell Harris, Breanna Thomas and Nicole Bursey; five great-grandchildren, Karter Harris, Bre’Kiya Davis, Messiah Dunn, Jayceyon Hurdern, and Makii Dunn; three brothers, Ted Thomas (Marlina), Tyronne Thomas, and Walter Thomas; four sisters, Bonnie Thomas, Sandra Hutchinson (Ben), Doris Ivory, Karen Ivory and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
