Dereck Damond Cash Sr.

DERECK DAMOND CASH SR.February 26, 1973 – April 26, 2026

Dereck Damond Cash Sr., age 53, of Dallas, Texas, was born on February 26, 1973, in Dallas, Texas. He was the beloved son of Jesse Cash Jr. and Lois Marie Parish-Cash.

Dereck received his education in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Bryan Adams High School.

He was united in marriage to Lola Nicole Thomas. Dereck was a dedicated and hardworking man who faithfully served in the security field for over 20 years, including his time at Scottish Rite Hospital.

At an early age, Dereck was baptized, and his faith remained an important part of his life. He was a member of True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, where he carried on a legacy of faith passed down by his grandfather, Rev. Robert L. Parish Sr.

Dereck was known for his deep love for family, his loyalty, and his passions. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan—so much so that his love for the team was undeniable. He proudly supported the Cowboys and stood firmly behind them. His love for the team will be honored as he is laid to rest in his Dallas Cowboys attire.

In addition to football, Dereck enjoyed purchasing and working on cars, a hobby that brought him both joy and peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Cash Jr. and Lois Marie Parish-Cash; his paternal grandparents, Jesse Cash Sr. and Margine Cash; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Robert L. Parish Sr. and Lois Parish; and his brother, Harold Johnson.

Dereck leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lola Nicole Thomas; his children, Sydney Lewis and Dereck Cash Jr.; his grandchildren, Skylar Scott, Shaquille Scott Jr., Katie Nicole Cash, and Rocco Johnny Cash; his mothers-in-love, Barbara Hutchinson and Linda Davis Cash; his siblings, Jesse Cash III (Debra Cash), David Cash, Antoine Johnson, Ronnie Johnson (Chandra Johnson), and Brittany Valdez; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
