Annie Ruth Jackson

Annie Ruth Jackson, 90, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. She was born in Timpson, Texas, on May, 20, 1929, to Elbert Nealy and Ella Jane Nealy. Annie Ruth Jackson received her Master's Degree in Education from Prairie View A&M University. She was an excellent educator for several years and worked for the Dallas Independent School District, where she received many accolades. She loved her family and was a great storyteller. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served on the Deaconess Board and was a longtime member of the choir. Annie was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jackson; her parents, Elbert Nealy and Ella Nealy; and her sisters: Jettie Nealy, Eula Williams, Onieta Nealy, and Bonnie Nealy. Annie Ruth is survived by her children: Fred M. Jackson and Lori Cooks; grandchildren: Fredrick Jackson, James Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Kandyse Hunt, Kelsey Curtis, Ja’Net Williams, Jasmine Jackson, and Demitrice Wiggins. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
